Nice work.
So no one threw batteries at Santa, or dumped beer on a player? Shocking!

We covet your young defense core.
They looked really good.

I'm sure if Weber was playing the Preds would have scored one on the PP.
Mason stole that game, Flyers played bad and made a ton of dumb plays.

Dear Nashville,

Please change your goal song. You know, celebrate your goal instead of mocking the other team. The Devils changed theirs and my hat goes off to them for the classy move.

That is all.

Poor Paul. Can't get over your case of Cup envy. You never pass on an opportunity to take cheap shots at the Blackhawks and their fans.

Maybe you're trying to draw some traffic to this thread?

I know your a big radio fish in that small puddle you live in but this is just cheap.

Grow up.

no disrespectful shouting or cheering during the National Anthem.

That's not a veiled reference to hawk fans? Reading comprehension is a skill. I'm just disappointed that there won't be a "Keep the Orange Out" now.

I have been a Preds season ticket holder since the first season in 1998. When the Hawks had their lean years that allowed them to draft Kane et al and even before in the Daze days their were few fans that came here. The worst support in our building for an Original 6 team. Respect for Detroit fans because they always show up. Now the Hawk fans show up in droves and talk a lot of crap. I guess the true test will be if they still come on their next down cycle. Looking forward to them being awful again.

How did Wilson not finish that game off last night- he got nor- really should have had 4. Cullen set him up with an empty net in the second that I could have finished.

10 minute OT with 3-3 cannot happen soon enough.

while I don't have an issue w/ the cheering during the anthem ( not really a fan either) im glad your reading comprehension recognizes it for what many believe it to be.

I wasn't there last night, so therefore I cannot tell you how our, well, colorful fans acted, but I really appreciate you going against the grain and complimenting our attending fanbase. It's easy to pick on our fans. Hey, they've MADE it easy in the past. The media usually puts it out there whether its true or not. You didn't go that route. You took the high road. The less popular path is rarely taken where as it seems most journalists are lazy regardless of the subject. That comment is not in regards to everyone, but its about the business in general. You decided to be different.

Thank you for your kind sentiment. It's appreciated. We get a bad rap, but in general we are by and large serious sports fans and we cherish our Flyers.

That being said, I pray Philly continues to attempt to poach your defense. Hey, how can I not covet it? Smashville has put together a hell of a talented young blue line core. I hope the Orange and Black someday have a fraction of the talent the Preds currently possess on defense. Weber, Jones, Josi. Just outstanding.

Yawn.... Wings fans had a winner for a decade before your franchise was barfed on to the seen and kept winning throughout so all of this fair weather fan crap could easily apply to them. See how they would road trip with an owner like Dollar Bill for 3 decades.

Since 1998. Wow! Most of the season ticket holders around me came from the old stadium with my dad 4 years earlier. One down the row is a 4th generation season ticket holder. Most of our season tix holders have been so for longer than your franchise has existed. To be judged by a bunch like McCann and yourselves is simply ridiculous.

Teams with a brand like the Hawks start winning and it may draw a new crowd. Some may even be new to hockey. I'm sure your ownership wish they could produce something even remotely similar. Unfortunately, Pekka will probably never be the same after that labral injury so don't count on it any time soon.

And about the cheering. Many Hawk fans think it is only appropriate at home. Even the Committed Indian comments on this - regularly asking road trippers to just stop. Personally, I think it is classless on the road but it is always well intended - as support for the team and a display of patriotism. There is nothing like seeing it at home - after 9/11, after the Boston bombing etc.... Once again, you predheads and your owners only wish you had a similar tradition...

Well said.

There will never be a "keep the orange out". This team, it's fans, and it's blogger are way too inconsequential.

These sorts of gouges are really meant for the low class franchises anyways. Since Rocky took over something like this would never happen in Chicago. His father OTOH....

Actually, Philly fans were just a convenient tool for McCann to revisit this little vendetta he has against Chicago and it's fans. I'm certain your contingent - just like all others - had it's share of drunks, meatheads, as well as serious and respectful individuals. This chump may want to gin up some sort of radio rivalry or something... Then again maybe he is sucking up to someone in Philly?

As usual, McCann is too simple minded for it to not be obvious.

I'm sure he appreciates the traffic though over the usual complete silence here.

It's a reference to Hawks fans who classlessly cheer thru the anthem, Stars fans who yell as well, Blues fans and the several other fan bases who do it, but I forgot that the entire NHL revolves around Chicago. Find your head and pull it out buddy.

Dude McCann is a Philly homer. Of course he is going to stroke their fanbase. It was BS for him to call out 'hawks fans...even though I don't care for them.

So inconsequential that you feel the need to defend... hmmmm

I mentioned the disrespect... not specifically mentioning a fanbase... Dallas fans yell "Stars" ... it's disrespectful... Atlanta fans yell "Knights" ... it's disrespectful... to just name a few...

I'm sorry... but if the shoe fits...

Can we drop the whole disrespect thing regarding anthems, goal songs, etc, etc?

I'm upset that "Blackhawks" logo and name are insensitive to the great American Indian population & the yell during the anthem...humpf...

I don't like that the Preds say Suck...humpf....

I don't like that Dallas yells Stars during the anthem...humpf...

I'm upset that Blues yells "overrated" when the other teams players are announced...humpf...

If you are in CHI...you scream during the anthem and you love it.
If you are in DAL...you yell Stars and you love it.
If you are in NAS...you sing/yell you suck, and you love it.
If you are in STL.....well you get the point.

Stay home and you can hit the mute button whenever you want.....

Now can we talk about how to fix the PP, the shootout and how many times we've been shut out?

I started reading this blog and thought it was a disgruntled Preds blogger who wasn't happy when opposing teams fans come in your teams building and ruin your good time. It is not. As I got to the end, and plain as day, this blogger Paul McCann, is a Flyers fan. So, all this praise for the well mannered Flyers fans is completely biased. I mean this guy seriously posts as a Preds blogger? What a joke! The Flyers are a perennially classless fan-base and they come out of this blog sounding like the model fans all at the expense of other divisional fan-bases. As a Blackhawks fan, I am sorry to the Predator fan-base that needs to read your BS overwhelmingly tinted in the Flyers favor. I am sorry, Paul, that you cant get the job you really want, which is writing for the Flyers. It must really suck having to subdue your emotions (sans the few blogs where you cant help but throw a few cheap shots at the Blackhawks, the team that hoisted the Cup on your teams ice in 2010) and pretend that you are a Predators fan until Meltzer calls it quits. I will not apologize, however, for my team's fan base coming down there and showing you guys how exciting it is when your team is winning. Sorry the Preds haven't tasted it, and clearly the Flyers have lost their luster over time. 38 years is a long time. Glad you still have your vintage Flyers jersey, Paul (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

You're welcome. Considering your blogs are almost entirely ignored when you fail to insult other fan bases I'm sure you are genuinely grateful. And all the crap about other fans cheering during the anthem is a cheap defense. You know who you were calling out. At least all of these teams HAVE a road presence that you can hear. Preds fans OTOH....

Also, speaking as a veteran and a frequent road tripper. NO NHL franchise does more for vets than Chicago. Same with native Americans. They started the "honoring veterans" tradition intra game that most of the league now emulates. The cheering during the anthem is an amazing experience since it began in the 80s. If paying fans want to try it on the road that is their right.

Most of the Preds fans I have met in Nashville have been pretty classy though I have never met one of their fans on the road (can't even find a jersey in the crowd most games). Too bad their blogger or his hand full of followers aren't.

Soon it will be back to crickets here.... Good luck with that.

I can't speak for Nashville, but as a native Chicagoan that has been living in Dallas since before the Stars' franchise moved here in '93, I can say that I've been to many, many Stars games involving the Hawks and have never witnessed anything, be it disrespect, drunkenness, starting fights, or whatever, on the the part of Hawks fans in Dallas. (Okay, I do remember one fight a few rows behind the net way back in the Chelios/Belfour/Dirk Graham days...)

In the last few years, it's not uncommon for fully half the lower bowl and much of the upper level to be occupied by Hawks fans when the two teams meet at the AAC in Dallas.

I wasn't able to attend the Nov. 29 game the other night, but I was there on Nov. 9, and you can be sure the Stars people running the in-game entertainment knew the makeup of the crowd, and welcomed it.

At one point the P.A. announcer said something like, "Attention, there's a car in the parking lot with a 'FrontRunner' bumper sticker with its lights on. So if you're in a red sweater..."

Later on, the they announced their "Seat Degradation Program"; on the jumbo-tron they showed a guy wearing a red Hawks' jersey being marched from a seat a few rows off the glass up to the very last row of the upper level, where a couple of minutes later they showed him "enjoying the game." About 10 minutes later, camera panned up there again during a stoppage, and he was still there. Everyone got a good laugh out of it, and the guy was totally a good sport about it.

Point is, the Stars people are well aware of the make-up of their crowd for Hawk games, embrace it and make an effort to make it fun for everyone. Maybe Nashville could try that instead of ginning up some phony ticket package to try to shut people out.
